I know my (old) pitching wedge is 45 degrees. For the first few rounds, each shot required me to establish a baseline, covert to Hogan-speak, and do whatever other math was necessary to find the right club for the shot.ġ45 is a 9 iron. Initially it’s fair to say that loft stamping contributed to a bit of a pace of play problem. Neither number is actually any more or less meaningful than the other. It doesn’t matter if the iron is stamped 8 or 34, for me, it just needs to go +/-155 yards. I get it – it’s a point of differentiation and plays to the larger message of precision – but initially I found it a bit unwieldy.Įventually pulling by loft instead of number should become second nature, but if modern loft-jacking, as Koehler contends, has made the number on the club meaningless, so too does stamping the loft. The new Hogan way of stamping lofts rather than iron numbers on the sole has been the topic of much discussion. That said, when you couple those discrete lofts with Hogan’s ½° tolerances (both loft and lie), the end result is a level of precision uncommon to the mass market. It’s something to talk about, but is it necessary?įrankly, I’m not sure how much the average golfer concerns himself with such things, and I suspect many will find the breadth of options Hogan offers overwhelming. Gimmick, sales hook, point of differentiation, whatever you want to call it, the reality is that Mr. It’s not a 36° bent a degree weak, or a 39° bent two degrees strong. If it hasn’t been made clear to you by now, what that means is that a 37° FT. While precision is exactly the type of nebulous term the golf industry loves to throw around, the most recognizable real world manifestation of the concept is that Hogans are manufactured in discrete lofts from 20° to 47°. The main selling point of the new Hogan FT. Let’s not get too excited over a good story and a matching logo. WORTH 15 iron was launched along with the TK Wedge and the declaration that precision is back. Koehler assembled his team, including some former Hogan original employees, set to work on a design he felt would be true to Ben Hogan’s standard. Terry Koehler who’s responsible for the Scor Golf short game brand (and the Eidolon brand before that) licensed the Hogan name from Perry Ellis who acquired the brand from in Callaway 2012. Longtime Hogan enthusiasts celebrated its hopefully triumphant return, while modern independent-minded golfers welcomed a potentially viable alternative to the mainstream.īy now you should know the story. The return of the once-iconic equipment brand is perhaps the golf equipment story of the year (Feel Good Division). More to the point, Ben Hogan, or at least the equipment company bearing his name, is back.

Loveless is well known for their biscuits. Their Biscuits Are Better Than The Ones At The Loveless CafeĪs I mentioned earlier I went to Loveless Cafe last spring. The bonuts are topped with lemon mascarpone and have blueberry compote underneath. I was surprised that they were not too sweet or doughy. Regardless of whatever else you decide to order the bonuts are a must have! They are flaky and delicious. I was intrigued by the bonuts but wasn’t sure if I would like them or not. Everyone online was raving about the bonuts. This was the main reason that I wanted to come to Biscuit Love. Bonuts Are The Best Item On The MenuĪre you curious what a bonut is? It is a cross between a biscuit and a donut. Our seating location added to my experience. If we had wanted to sit at the bar we could have gone inside a few minutes earlier. We waited because I wanted to sit there to be able to get great pictures with the sign. A table under the Nashville letters was being cleaned while we were looking for a place to sit down. After you have placed your order you will be given a number to place on your table. You can also purchase their t shirts and other merchandise while you are in this line. Once you make it inside you have to wait in another line to order. However, I do want you to know that there is a good chance you will have to wait outside before you can get in. We went at 10:30am on a Friday so the wait time might vary by your arrival time and the day of the week. After my very first bite of food I confirmed that it was more than worth the wait. Based on how cold my Mom and I were waiting in line we began to doubt whether or not that was true. Before we made it inside several people who were leaving kept telling everyone in line that it’s worth the wait. My research indicated that there would be a line out the door. Four Things To Know About Biscuit Love It’s Worth The Wait To be safe I suggest paying for at least two hours. We parked in an outdoor parking lot across from Bar Louie which is next door to Biscuit Love. Biscuit Love, which started out as a food truck, now has a location in The Gulch area of downtown Nashville. My Mom and I had no luck finding free parking. I highly recommend checking out Biscuit Love while in the Nashville area. On my most recent trip I did some research and found a lot of recommendations for a place called Biscuit Love in Nashville. Last spring I visited Loveless Cafe for the first time. When I come back to visit I like going to my favorite eateries but I also enjoy trying at least one place that I have never been to. 0 Flares Twitter 0 Facebook 0 Google+ 0 Pin It Share 0 Email - StumbleUpon 0 Reddit 0 Filament.io 0 Flares ×Īs some of you may know I used to live in Tennessee. And the late addition of the Friday lineup frustrated some festival-goers who’d already spent money on travel and accommodations to attend Saturday and Sunday. During busy times, the few food vendors created long lines, and crowds entering the main stage often bottlenecked around a bar area. The no-phone policy at the main stage (audience members had to seal them inside locked Yondr pouches) created an in-the-moment atmosphere where you could be present. The festival grounds were small, and the schedule was fairly sparse, making it possible to meander-rather than book it-from stage to stage. Musical powerhouses with decades of hits, including Chaka Khan, Maxwell and Snoop Dogg, gave stellar performances. Over the July 29–31 weekend, Blue Note attracted a grown-and-sexy audience-mostly in their 30s, 40s, 50s and up, and significantly more diverse than Napa Valley's other festival, BottleRock-to a bucolic setting at the tree-lined Charles Krug Winery in St. But if you’re really, really into jazz, soul and hip-hop-and are the type to nerd out about seeing the highest caliber of instrumentalists-this was an experience worth the splurge. It may have been pricey, and the rural location quite a trek from the Bay Area’s urban centers. The Blue Note Jazz Festival in Napa Valley was certainly the latter. But there’s also something to be said for a more niche, curated experience. There are benefits to giant festivals like Coachella or Outside Lands, where you can see a year’s worth of performances in a single weekend. The reflection of a point $(x,y)$ over the x-axis will be represented as $(x,-y)$.Īllan was working as an architect engineer on a construction site and he just realized that the function $y = 3x^+4(-x) -1)$. In that case, the reflection over the x-axis equation for the given function will be written as $y = -f(x)$, and here you can see that all the values of “$y$” will have an opposite sign as compared to the original function. When we have to reflect a function over the x-axis, the points of the x coordinates will remain the same while we will change the signs of all the coordinates of the y-axis.įor example, suppose we have to reflect the given function $y = f(x)$ around the x-axis. How To Reflect a Function Over the X-axis When you reflect a point across the y-axis, the y-coordinate remains the same, but the x-coordinate. On the other hand, during the reflection of a function, position as well as the direction of the image of the graph is changed while the shape and size remain the same. During the translation of a function, only the position of a function is changed while the size, shape, and direction remain the same. The direction of the reflected image or graph should be opposite to the original image or graph.Īs we discussed earlier, there are four types of function transformations, and students often confuse the reflection of a function with the translation of a function. Small audio parts of this release's audio material can be heard on the next album, which seem to be recycled for usage on the suture instrumentals. Chemlab - Exile On Mainline (Radio) Lyrics. The first chemlab release showcases a much more industrial sound, with far less guitar used and more unorganized and chaotic noises instrumentally. Some of the tracks found on the compilation have been remixed. The album includes all the songs found on this release, with some from the next album and one previously unreleased track. In 1994, the compilation album Magnetic Field Remixes was released and is essentially a reissue of this EP. The tour was a smash success of sold-out shows that solidly planted Chemlab before the exploding underground scene. Moore wrote two songs specifically for that tour, 'Gas Mask' and 'X-Flipped' and although they performed them every night and they very much showed the harder and even more experimental direction the band would take on their subsequent albums, neither song was ever recorded. On the strength of excellent reviews and a strong buzz the band was asked to support Nine Inch Nails on their "Now I'm Nothing" tour in the winter of 1991. Hendrickson's aggressive promotion ensured that the EP was reviewed in most of the music magazines and trade journals of the day and the first 1000 vinyl copies sold out very quickly. It instantly struck a chord in the nascent American machine rock/industrial music scene and became an instant underground hit on dance floors across the country. Cool NIN-like samples in Neurozone and great song Derailer. It was noisy yet hooky, the sound a mixture of Ministry, Front 242, Skinny Puppy and such first-wave industrial bands as SPK and Throbbing Gristle yet distinctly their own. Characteristic Chemlab sound clearly hearable - lots of those typical sutures. The EP showcased Moore's burgeoning talents, his aggressive, experimental programming and Jared Hendrickson's apocalyptic vision of the world. Dylan and Jared moved to New York City, where they continued Chemlab without Frank until the band's implosion in 1997. This release was recorded without permission at National Geographic's studios after hours and mixed in Los Angeles by Hilary Bercovici, a friend of Frank's.
